Lost & Found

In this series I strictly used photographs from antique stores; images that were buried in bags and boxes that no one looks through. These images were once cherished by someone but are now forgotten. I am giving them new lives; an opportunity to be cherished again.

This body of work consists of digital collages that were made by combining antique store photographs, old post cards, letters and the writing from the backs of the original images. All of these were used to create alternate realities for the people from the originals by putting them with new people in new situations, ultimately giving them new stories. A distressed style is used on these images as a symbol of their journey.

Each image was then printed on 13"x19" inkjet film and a digital Fresco transfer was done onto wood. Aged and hand distressed frame pieces were added as the border. My hope is that this series is able to show the beauty and stories that can be found in things of the past.
